Learn & practise · P5, PSLE, Sec 1 and Sec 2 (G2)

One chapter, start to finish.

Every chapter goes the same way: try the idea in a lab, work through the quest, then practise writing the answer. Pick the P5, PSLE or Sec 1 (G2) track, then a chapter.

How every chapter goes

same three steps, every time

  1. Try it in the lab

Read the chapter notes and open its lab. Predict a result, change one thing and see what happens.

  2. Do the quest

Short stages, one idea each, then a timed Boss. Practise explaining the science and compare your reasoning with the model answer.

  3. Come back to it

Use saved progress and revision notes to choose what to practise next. Guided Learn helps you revisit what you missed.

Every chapter has a lab made of small stations. Build, adjust and try again: each change is a chance to ask what happened and why.

Circuit Lab: a circuit with two batteries, one bulb in series and two bulbs on parallel branches.
Build it. Then blow a bulb on purpose.Circuit Lab
Light Lab: two torches shine past a ball onto a screen, with shadow measurements.
Move the torch closer. Why does the shadow grow?Light Lab
Heat Lab: a beaker of ice being heated next to a temperature graph that goes flat at 0 and 100 degrees.
Heat the ice. The line goes flat — twice. Why?Heat Lab
Energy Lab: a ball on an adjustable roller-coaster track with live energy bars.
Shape the hills. Where does the energy go?Energy Lab

Answer Writing

where Booklet B marks are won

Practise reading the question, choosing an answer shape and explaining the science. For P5, this builds the skills Booklet B asks for.

  1. Choose an answer pattern, then fill it in. Explain: answer → science idea → link to the observation. Compare: A … whereas B …. Predict: a prediction, because …. Using a graph: quote data, then state the trend. Fair test: what to change, measure and keep the same.

Colour-coded model answer

Explain why the bulb goes off.

ClaimThe bulb goes off.

EvidenceThe switch is open.

ReasoningThe circuit is incomplete, so electric current cannot flow through the bulb.

“It stops because it is broken” hides the science. Which word would you change?

A useful view for parents

After signing in, open Parent view from the Family section of the learning menu. Review chapter progress and answer-writing practice together, then choose one area to revisit.

Written answers from the Circuit Lab Exam Desk appear in the report. Written answers are coming to more chapters.
